Reagents are substances or compounds that are added to a water treatment system to cause a chemical reaction or regenerate the filtering material initial characteristics. Water treatment combined with the use of chemical reagents ensures stable water quality throughout the water treatment process.
If water treatment is done with iron removal equipment or water softening filters, their quality operation requires reagents, which need to be replenished from time to time. Salt is used as a reagent in water softeners and potassium permanganate in water iron removal equipment for water with very high concentrations of Iron.
Company WATEX offers high quality salt and potassium permanganate filters, which ensure that water treatment will allow to obtain excellent, good-tasting drinking water.
The effectiveness of water softeners depends to an extent on the type of salt used. Water treatment with water softeners requires preferably highly pressed salt which dissolves evenly. The salt is intended for regeneration of ion exchange resins and restoration of their capacity. A good salt is one that dissolves gradually, providing only the required amount of salt, and does not break down.
Types of salt used in the equipment:
Potassium permanganate - a purple-black crystalline substance that dissolves in water to form a purple solution. Potassium permanganate is used in the technological process of water iron removal equipment, to restore (regenerate) the capacity of the filter material. To ensure maximum water treatment, the Potassium permanganate should be added to the machine according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
